  inspire Faculty of Engineering students to think about entrepreneurship a

 ompany in the future or be part of start-up or small/medium enterprise\, o
 r a large firm.  In addition\, we want to grow the entrepreneurial culture
  and spirit in the Faculty of Engineering.\n\nThe Annual John D. Thompson 
 Entrepreneurial Development Seminar is offered thanks to the generosity of
  Engineering alumnus Mr. John D. Thompson (B.Eng. 1957).\n\nOur keynote sp
 eaker will talk about his entrepreneurial journey!\n\nThe top 6 TechIdea f
 inalists will pitch their ideas during the seminar! \n\nEach team will hav
 e 5 minutes to to present their idea or solution in an 'elevator pitch' fo
 rmat to a panel of judges from the business and technical community. This 
 will challenge students to present themselves\, and their idea\, in a conc
 ise and convincing way. Judges will have 2 minutes to ask questions and gi
 ve feedback. The top 3 pitches will win cash prizes of $500\, $250 and $10
