RGHL Travel Grants

The RGHL is pleased to offer travel grants to undergraduate and graduate students who wish to travel to academic conference to present their health-law related research. The aim of the travel grant program is to encourage students to pursue their interest in health law and to disseminate McGill’s expertise in this field across the country and the world.

Travel grants have a maximum value of 500$.

RGHL Graduate Fellowships

The McGill Research Group on Health and Law (RGHL) at Ƭ֦Ƶ’s Faculty of Law is inviting applications for graduate fellowships from LLM (with thesis) and DCL applicants (2025–2026 academic year) planning to complete their thesis on topics associated with the RGHL’s research interests.

Requirements

  • Admission to the LLM (with thesis) or DCL program at the Faculty of Law of Ƭ֦Ƶ

  • Completion of undergraduate-level studies in law

  • LLM or DCL research project with a focus on law and health, health policy, or ethics

Application process

Candidates must fill out the RGHL Graduate Fellowship form available . Successful applicants will be notified following their admission to their chosen graduate program.

Deadline for the RGHL Graduate Fellowship application: August 15, 2025.


RGHL Postdoctoral Fellowships

The McGill Research Group on Health and Law (RGHL) at Ƭ֦Ƶ’s Faculty of Law is seeking up to two Postdoctoral Fellows for a six-month period starting at the latest in September 2025.

About the McGill Research Group on Health and Law ()

The RGHL is a research network that seeks to foster the sharing of scholarship and ideas among professors, researchers, and students, and encourages collaborative work on health-related issues. It also seeks to build interdisciplinary bridges across the University with colleagues working on health-related topics. Finally, it aims to provide students with a breadth of opportunities for pursuing intellectual endeavours in the field of health law through coursework, independent research, graduate studies, or extracurricular engagements. Position Description

The Fellow will benefit from opportunities to expand their professional network, engage in research collaboration, and receive support in applying for fellowships, grants and professional positions.

Primary responsibilities will include carrying out ongoing interdisciplinary research projects in a range of areas related to health, law and justice for RGHL conveners and members. Other tasks may include helping design events such as research seminars, colloquia and workshops, collaborative teaching, and preparing grant applications. Work schedule: approx. 35 hours per week. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to spend approximately half of the fellowship hours conducting their own research alongside the above responsibilities. Salary: $48,000 per annum (plus benefits).

Qualities Sought

  • Full completion of doctoral-level studies in law by 1st Sept 2025 with a focus on law and health, or law degree followed by doctoral studies in health law, health policy, or a related discipline.

  • Bilingualism (English, French) is an asset

  • Ability to conduct interdisciplinary research is an asset

Le GRSD est un réseau de recherche qui cherche à encourager le partage de la recherche et d’idées entre professeurs, chercheurs et étudiants et qui favorise le travail collaboratif sur les questions liées à la santé. Horaire de travail : approximativement 35 heures par semaine. Nous nous attendons à ce que le chercheur postdoctoral consacre environ la moitié de ces heures à mener ses propres recherches, parallèlement aux responsabilités énoncées ci-dessus. Qualités recherchées

  • Diplôme d’études doctorales (obtenu au plus tard au 1er septembre 2025) en droit avec spécialisation en droit et santé, ou diplôme en droit suivi d’un doctorat en droit de la santé, politique de la santé ou dans une discipline connexe

  • Bilinguisme (anglais, français) est un atout

  • Capacité à effectuer de la recherche interdisciplinaire est un atout

The DEEP offers aninternship program for students across disciplines at McGill. The internship program trains and develops the next generation of leaders to catalyze solutions that benefit population health and welfare. The program offers research opportunities and diversetraining that build on the strengths of graduate and undergraduate education at Ƭ֦Ƶ in investigating how social conditions affect health and well-being.
