Terry Hébert, PhD, Assistant Dean, Biomedical Science Education, has been chosen for the David Thomson Award for Graduate Supervision and Teaching. Prof. Hébert, who is also Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics as well as Director of the McGill Regenerative Medicine Network, was recognized by his students and peers for his outstanding contributions to promoting graduate student excellence as a supervisor and teacher over the years.

This year’s Osler Awards for Outstanding Teaching in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences were bestowed upon Frédéric Côté, MD, Faculty Lecturer in General Surgery, Gatineau surgical site director and TCP course director at Campus Outaouais, and Andrea Blotsky, MDCM, Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Montreal campus and attending physician at St. Mary’s Hospital Center. A worthy recipient from each campus is chosen by senior medical students for their outstanding contribution to their medical education.

The outstanding graduates from our six Schools of the FMHS were conferred their degrees at Fall Convocation on December 2 at Place des Arts. It was a particularly special one for grads from the Experimental Medicine program in the Department of Medicine which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. Congrats to all our amazing graduates – you make us so proud!

Mark Yaffe, MDCM, Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, will be honoured with ��Ƭ��֦��Ƶ’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Learning during the fall convocation ceremony on December 2.

The award, one of McGill’s highest distinctions, recognizes sustained excellence in leadership and innovation that has had a significant impact at McGill and beyond. It also highlights the active integration of teaching and learning with research, scholarship and inquiry.

Meaningful ceremony celebrates nursing professionalism

A rite of passage for students at McGill’s Ingram School of Nursing (ISoN), this year’s milestone event encompassed students at the beginning of their nursing journeys as well as more experienced nurses who have chosen to deepen their knowledge and enhance their skills. The proceedings were expertly emceed by Associate Director – Education Josée Bonneau, who welcomed the students and assured them that faculty and staff are committed to their success.
