Shannon McNamara is an Adult Care Nurse Practitioner with 30 years of combined clinical and academic experience. She began her nursing career in cardiology and developed deep expertise in the specialty. Her passion for nursing, cardiology, and lifelong learning led her to complete a Master’s degree and graduate with the first cohort of Nurse Practitioners in Quebec in 2006. As a NP, she has worked with cardiac surgery, general cardiology, and heart failure populations.

Shannon joined »ÆÆ¬ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµâ€™s Ingram School of Nursing in 2019 to develop the Adult Care Nurse Practitioner concentration and now serves as Program Director for the Nurse Practitioner programs. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing at the University of Toronto, where her scholarly focus includes teaching and learning activities in NP education and the role-transition experience of novice Nurse Practitioners.
