Overview

Islamic Studies : A survey of the evolution of Perso-Islamic civilization, and an analysis of the transformation of the Turco-Iranian heritage in the Sub-continent into Indo-Islamic civilization. Comparative study of the institutional, political, religious and cultural developments in Mughal India and Safavid Iran (1501 - 1750).

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Instructors: There are no professors associated with this course for the 2010-2011 academic year.

  • Seminar 2 hours
  • Students must register for both ISLA 761D1 and ISLA 761D2
  • No credit will be given for this course unless both ISLA 761D1 and ISLA 761D2 are successfully completed in consecutive terms
