Program for Graduate Students

A sense of community as well as support for the development of core competencies are key to academic success and student wellbeing. Named after the successful “Connected Academics” project developed by MLA in 2019, this initiative is designed to support graduate students in the social sciences and humanities in their personal, professional, and academic growth, and to create a space for interdisciplinary reflection on their scholarly work.

Social Sciences and Humanities

Connected Academics for social science and humanities graduate students features invited speakers from a variety of institutions, as well as the McGill community, to offer a broader perspective on topics related to professional development. Each talk will be followed by refreshments and discussion. Over snacks and drinks, participants will have the opportunity to connect with their peers across disciplines and programs.

Connected Academics Exchanges

Connected Academics Exchanges are sponsored groups that meet regularly to share resources, discuss research, and create meaningful connections between graduate students. Check out the groups we are sponsoring this year.
