Maude Abbott Medical Museum

The Maude Abbott Medical Museum is a repository of materials dating from the early 19th century that documents the study and practice of Medicine at »ÆÆ¬ÀóÖ¦ÊÓÆµ and its associated teaching hospitals.

The Museum is a resource for research and teaching. Students in the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences have volunteer opportunities at the museum. Faculty in the Department of English, the Department of History and Classical Studies, and the Department of Anthropology bring students to learn with museum materials, and the Museum Director, Dr. Richard Fraser, teaches an annual course in the "Medicine and Society" PIAT ("Putting it all together") sequence for fourth year medical students using materials in the museum collection.

The Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoon 13:00-17:00 and by appointment. Admission is FREE.
